Puzzle Pieces
Every week the challenge isn’t picking good music for the live show or for what ends up here in “podcast” form. Rather, it is about putting the pieces of the puzzle together so that you can enjoy a show that is filled with all different kinds of music. When I say “different” I don’t mean Rap, Country, 50’s and Big Band, even though that is a random mix…I mean more of what is the “norm” on RAR. What I am piecing together on weekly basis is Classic Rock, Modern/Progressive Rock and Roll, 80’s, 90’s and some Grunge. Getting this together the way that it was supposed to “fit” happened this week. You will see a great Classic track out of the gate, and then some more modern tracks we label “New Music” on the show. in the second half to keep the energy up, we gave the fans what they wanted, more Classic Rock. It worked very well.
Ebb and Flow
We saw the appeal to a lot of different kinds of music this week where the Classics were represented well, the “fill ins” played nicely in the 2nd half. In the first half we played from the Random Retro Series (anything 20+ years or older) and the live listeners loved the 2 we played right before the 1/2 point. They also added that they liked the placement of the tracks in the show. I can see that staying the same. RAR definitely had great flow this week and the outcome showed it this week.
The Taste Test
After 32 successful episodes and seeing where have come from and where we are at now, we know that taste testing has to be done before we hit the air. It was this week for sure. The mix is fresh, Classic, evolving as well as current. I have no doubt in my mind that if you like music in general in the categories I mentioned above, you will enjoy this show.
Random Access Radio uses only the best ingredients( HQ) in the show. We hope that the taste of #33 makes you want to come back for more.
Random Access Radio is live on Tuesday nights starting at 8:30 pm EST.
