Boston Media Makers Wrap 7/4/10

July Edition of #BMM

July 4th every year consists of BBQ’s, friends, family, (drinking) and of course fireworks. Here in Boston we are fortunate to have all of that and of course our Boston Pops with a spectacular fireworks display over the Charles River on the 4th. This year, Boston kicked it up a notch with the July meeting of The Boston Media Makers. Despite the holiday falling on the first Sunday of the month being the 4th, attendees were excited about getting together at Doyle’s Cafe in Jamaica Plain, MA.

With this being my 2nd “meeting”, I was glad to see some new faces and some new ideas and questions that were thrown out there. I love the fact that we get a chance to “mingle” for about 30 minutes prior to the start of personal presentations. I was thinking while I was there, that is was great to meet some new people and see some of the people that I met back in June. It is a great feeling to see the thoughts that come out such a diverse group. I also think that the creativity factor is what I love about being at the BMM each month.

We had attendees speaking about personal websites, the new iPhone, documentaries and how they will be using “open source” means to get their project done as well as a number played on a banjo in honor of the 4th of July by Tim Rowell.

Steve also used this device (not the vid cams, but the holder) when he had recorded the roll call on a DSLR for the June BMM meeting. Here is Steve holding the 2 Zi8’s. This is a great event that any and all media 4675663104_73ed1bfd69enthusiast out there should attend. It’s a great way to showcase what you projects you are working on, meet some new people and see what others may need help with.

In addition to meeting new people, you will get a chance to get a great breakfast while the meeting is going on at Doyle’s.  To subscribe to the Group Page and get updates on future meetings, CLICK HERE.
